There is a new opportunity within our pharmacy team on the Surgical Emergency Unit. We are looking for a proactive and dynamic pharmacist who will work collaboratively to develop and deliver a top class pharmacy service in a fast-paced acute surgical setting. The successful candidate will work alongside the current Lead Pharmacist for the area and share responsibility for managing and leading pharmacy services in this area. This part-time post will give the successful candidate an opportunity to significantly develop both their clinical, managerial and leadership skills.

The focus of the role is to continue to develop strong working relationships with both senior and junior clinicians and the unit’s nursing team that focuses on improving patient outcomes and reducing patients’ length of stay while improving their hospital experience through medicines optimisation. The successful candidate would become an integral member of the current pharmacy team, sharing responsibilities for managing and training 2 junior pharmacists and a ward technician.

The successful candidate must have significant clinical pharmacy experience, be able to demonstrate attention to detail in their previous roles, clearly show the development of key performance indicators and use them to manage change within the clinical environment. Experience of leading, teaching, developing and motivating junior members of staff will be critical in ensuring class leading clinical services are successfully delivered.
