Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use Value Based Interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significant difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

Are you looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to enhance your skills?

A new career opportunity has arisen in the caring profession.

There are 6 full time or part time positions (upon negotiation) available to recruit Advanced Rehabilitation Support Worker’s across wards CMU-A and CMU-B.

We are looking for motivated Advanced Rehabilitation Support Workers to join our team within the Acute General Medicine wards at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

AGM has built up a reputation for delivering excellent and compassionate care to some of Oxfordshire’s most complex medical patients. Our wards are known for their high-performance and their energetic and enthusiastic teams that are constantly striving to go the extra mile for our patients.

We are committed to supporting your continuing professional and career development, which will give you the opportunity to enhance your skills and undertake further training within the acute setting of Complex Medicine Units A and B.

Whilst providing support when recovering from acute episode of illness requiring admission, we offer an intensive inter -disciplinary inpatient rehabilitation for frail elderly patients from Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.

We aim to get patients up and mobile as soon as they have recovered from acute episode of their illness, to give them the best chance of early recovery and prevent de-conditioning associated with prolonged bed rest in hospitals. In this role, you will be working as a member of AGM inter-disciplinary team in supporting the rehabilitation of patients who are admitted to the ward.

We are proud of our high standards of care and our supportive and friendly environment. You will join a team that treats our patients with dignity, compassion and respect to provide support and safe care for them. You will assist in personal care for our patients with special focus on the rehabilitation side of their care.

If you are someone who enjoys the challenge of meeting a wide range of patients’ individual needs in a fast-moving environment, values team working and has the ability to remain calm under pressure, we want to hear from you.

Applicant requirements

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
