The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use values-based interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significance difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

Are you looking for a new challenge and develop your skills? Would you like to work in one of the best teams of the Trust?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Staff Nurses to join our motivated team within the Acute General Medicine at the John Radcliffe Hospital. AGM has built up a reputation for delivering excellent and compassionate care to some of Oxfordshire’s most complex medical patients. We have 2 short stay wards and 4 acute medical wards that have been recently rebranded as Complex Medicine Units. This has been a recognition for the high-performance of the wards and their energetic and enthusiastic teams that are constantly striving to go the extra mile for our patients. The secret to our success is teamwork, aptitude and a comprehensive training package to develop your competencies in different areas such as tracheostomies, PEG tubes, and treating chronic and complex conditions.

We are proud of our high standards of care and our supportive and friendly environment. We are looking for skilled, enthusiastic and innovative individuals to deliver the best care to our patients. Vocation is essential as the acuity of our patients’ condition makes the position challenging and highly demanding. If you think you have right values, you are mentally strong and thrive under pressure, we would very much like to hear from you.

We are open for discussion regarding flexible working for the right candidate.
