Post – Haemostasis and Blood Conservation Practitioner
Band 7, Full time 1.0 WTE, Permanent

We are recruiting a haemostasis and blood conservation practitioner to join our existing team. We offer all aspects of haemostasis management to a wide variety of surgical specialities across the Trust. As a member of this team you would develop the competence to provide blood conservation and haemostasis management services, offering cell salvage, coagulation monitoring, and a range of related procedures , ensure adequate anti thrombotic therapy and improve patient care.

The key attributes required are:
• Nursing RN 1st level Registration/ ODP Level 3 NVQ/ ODA 752.
• Experience in operating theatre/surgical settings.
• Experience or knowledge in cell salvage and haemostasis techniques is desirable.
• Flexibility to work across all OUHFT sites.
• Confidence and ability to advise senior medical colleagues on appropriate transfusion/or treatment options.
• The ability to work under pressure autonomously.
• A calm decisive disposition.

The successful candidate will work alongside the other haemostasis practitioners, be fully supported and be provided with an orientation and training programme. Time will be given to develop the required competencies.

We actively encourage informal visits to meet the team.

Interviews will comprise a Value based element and presentation.
