An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Bronchiectasis Service based at the John Radcliffe hospital. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking, enthusiastic and well-motivated Therapy Assistant to support the Physiotherapy team in delivering rehabilitation.  The post holder will work alongside an established, experienced and supportive Physiotherapy team as part of a multi-disciplinary service.

 

Oxford Adult Regional CF Centre is a tertiary referral centre which cares for adults with Cystic Fibrosis across the neighbouring five counties. It also includes a non-CF Bronchiectasis Service which cares for Oxfordshire patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist clinical area where there is a strong emphasis on multi-professional working within a specialist team. You will be working with a varied caseload of CF and Bronchiectasis patients ranging from those with mild disease to those with end stage lung disease. The post holder will be expected to work alongside the physiotherapy team to provide dynamic exercise programmes for in-patients and provide ongoing support in the community. You will also be expected to support the team in performing a variety of tasks to continually assess and maintain our patients’ clinical status which includes maintenance of equipment.

 

High levels of professionalism, flexibility and excellent communication skills are required to work effectively in this role. Previous experience within the NHS; delivering exercise programmes and working with chronic respiratory patients would be desirable. Any experience working with holistic therapies such as reflexology or massage would also be an advantage. You will be fully supported in this role and actively encouraged to participate in training including involvement in the National CF physiotherapy assistant network.
