An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit to a new and exciting position- a Digital Learning Designer. You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a keen interest in the development of e-learning solutions and blended learning approaches using a wide variety of technologies. To support the right person, we would consider appointing to this post as either a Band 5 with a supported competency framework to develop into a Band 6 post or as a Band 6 if you already have the right skills and experience.

Working closely with the Workforce Leads from the Supra-Regional group, you will be responsible for utilising information & communication technologies (ICT) to enhance the knowledge and skills of the research workforce across the region. You will also take a lead on agreed projects that deliver the strategic objectives of the Supra-Regional Workforce Group and for individual Local Clinical Research Networks (LCRNs) where agreed, specifically in relation to workforce development.

The Digital Learning Designer post is a unique opportunity for an individual with experience in the use of ICT to enhance the learning and development of the research workforce across the four LCRNs of Thames Valley & South Midlands, Wessex, West of England and South West Peninsula. These four regions have recently formed a Supra-Regional Workforce Development Group with the aim of working collaboratively on joint workforce development projects. This post will be key to ensuring the success of the collaboration.

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) is funded through the Department of Health & Social Care to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research. The NIHR CRN is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS in England, tasked with supporting the rapid set-up and effective conduct of studies, so that researchers can gather the robust evidence needed to improve treatments for NHS patients. Your primary base site will be Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust at the Nuffield Orthopaedic site. However, frequent travel will be required in order to cover the geography of the four LCRNs who form the Supra-Regional Working Group. This post is advertised on a fixed term contract for 2 years from commencing employment.
