We are looking for an enthusiastic Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team.


The Day Surgery Unit is a newly refurbished Unit which opens from 06:45 - 22:00 Mon-Fri and 07:15 -20:00 on Saturdays. There are 10 operating theatres at the Churchill hospital and we are utilizing   9 theatres for our Elective patients daily. This unit is a very busy environment we can admit up to 25 -40 patients per day

. You will need to be a forward thinking, motivated professional nurse who is committed to providing a high standard of holistic care and can demonstrate a caring commitment to working in partnership with patients and their families.

The successful applicant will assist in delivering high quality care ensuring effective flow of patients. The post holder will support of the ward manager; ensuring staff have an annual appraisal and appropriate training. You will assist the ward manager with other managerial duties in their absence.  You will assist the ward manager to provide clinical leadership, monitor nursing standards and ensure compliance within the NMC standards.

To be successful, you will need to be a qualified RGN with a valid NMC registration. Applicants must have excellent customer care, communication and interpersonal skills and be flexible and able to adapt to and support change in this growing and developing environment. We are able offer a wide range of opportunity and training to support personal development needs.

We run a pattern of 8.5 hour days worked over 2 weeks or 1 long day [12 hours] and 3 x 8.5 shifts weekly
