The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use values-based interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significance difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

“Coming to the early phase clinical trials unit, is like having a day out. I feel like a person first rather than a patient” (Patient, April 18).  Join our dynamic team in a supportive environment dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients on novel cancer treatments. You can make a difference here in Oxford.

We are looking for someone to help us deliver our early phase clinical trials portfolio and promote high quality patient care. The role involves managing your own caseload of patients and trials portfolio, within the multidisciplinary team.

You will be an experienced nurse, ideally with experience of working within the fields of cancer or haematology (but not essential). The role offers exceptional development opportunities, both academically and professionally. We pride ourselves in our ability to support staff to attend conferences and investigator meetings. For individuals who are interested in progressing within research, there is also the opportunity to develop skills in trial set up, report writing and protocol review which can be taken forward into the wider research community via conferences and publications.

Flexible working requests considered.

Potential candidates should be able to demonstrate:

  • Relevant post registration experience
  • Clinical Research experience
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
