The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use values-based interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significance difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

This is an exciting opportunity for energetic, enthusiastic doctors who wish to develop their teaching and emergency medicine skills in the setting of a world-class academic institution.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking to build on an extensive and highly successful track record of developing Career grade Emergency Medicine doctors into Consultants and leaders in the field of medical education, working both inside and outside of the Trust.

We aim to continue this by appointing successful applicants onto a specially-tailored Teaching Fellowship Programme. This fellowship aims to offer high-quality Emergency Medicine experience and education in a Major Trauma Centre & District General Hospital, both on and off the shop-floor. The fellow will enjoy 25% protected time to develop their interest and establish a track record in teaching and medical education. They will be encouraged to use this time to build their medical education portfolio by designing, organising and delivering a range of multi-modal teaching sessions to different groups active in the Emergency Department, which already has a multitude of established teaching programmes in which to participate.

The Fellow will also benefit from well-established links with Oxford University, currently ranked as the world's best Medical School.
