The Department of Immunology is a large and dynamic laboratory providing a wide ranging regional diagnostic service.  As part of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, it offers a substantial and diverse repertoire of assays, some of which are highly specialized.

The laboratory has UKAS 15189 Accreditation and processes over 380,000 tests per year.

As one of the largest Immunology laboratories in the UK we offer great opportunities for career development in a highly progressive working environment.

We are keen to recruit an enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated person to join our friendly team of staff. Our ideal candidate will be a HCPC registered Biomedical/Healthcare Scientist with experience in Immunology.  However un-registered applicants with a good IBMS accredited honours degree will be considered. If successful the candidate will be expected to complete the HCPC registration portfolio within 12 months.

You will play a key role in helping to deliver and develop our comprehensive, clinical immunology service. You will help to meet quality standards necessary for accreditation, and ensure that protocols are followed in a way that maintains Health, Safety and Information Security for individuals, the Department and the Trust. You will be expected to actively participate in the training and development of technical, medical and support staff, as well as to be pro-active in your own continued development.
