An exciting opportunity has arisen on the John Warin ward (Tropical Medicine and infectious disease department) for the post of a Nursing Assistant.

The role will involve close working with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients/relatives/carers. The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and high standard of care for patients of all genders and to assist them with their personal care needs.

This may involve maintaining hygiene needs for individuals such as;

  • Helping patients to wash and dress themselves and assisting with toileting needs, maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
  • To be able to assess and monitor the patients skin integrity and to report and document immediately any changes or concerns in their condition.
  • To assist patients to meet their food and fluid intake giving attention to special diets, supplements and cultural requirements.

We are looking for pro-active and highly motivated individuals to work as part of a team. The applicant will be expected to be enthusiastic, organised with excellent communication skills.They should be able to work well under pressure and be able to prioritize their own workload under constantly changing demands.
