The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use values-based interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significance difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

Oxford University Hospitals is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country.  It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.  The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, the John Radcliffe and Churchill Hospitals in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Oxford University Hospitals and the University of Oxford are active research partners and have successfully worked together in the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre, and other research networks.  The partners have created a broader joint office incorporating Clinical and Regulatory Governance, Grants and Contracts, Partnerships and Business Development. The Joint Research Office consists of around 100 staff.

We are looking to recruit and train an enthusiastic, motivated Research Contracts Specialist to join the Joint Research Office based at the Churchill Hospital and OUH Cowley.  This position is within a team responsible for the successful execution of contract negotiation and innovation management.  This is a fixed-term post of 22 months but the right candidates will have their contracts extended.  Opportunities for promotion also arise within the team.

The post holder will liaise with researchers, clinicians and relevant administrators to ensure an effective service is provided to both internal and external service users. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential.  You will be joining a friendly, multidisciplinary team which provides ongoing education, development and support.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a science background who wants to move into a support role for world -class research, or for someone with contracts or legal experience who wants to develop their career in a clinical research setting.
