The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use values-based interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significance difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 7 Research Team Lead to join our highly motivated research team and drive forward the NHS aim of increasing patient involvement in clinical research.

The successful applicant will act in a senior role overseeing delivery of NIHR CRN studies in dementia and neurology (e.g. Huntington’s Disease, Parkinson’s Disease, Ataxia),  as well as working on and coordinating said research studies.

You will need skills to provide excellent clinical and managerial leadership to the team (including clinical supervision) as well as working closely with the multi-disciplinary teams, Research and Development departments, plus patients and families. You will also have an active role in building and maintaining relationships with current and future investigators and researchers.

The post is based primarily at the John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford; however there is a requirement to support research studies and staff across the Thames Valley so a full driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this post. Working days are Monday to Friday. Part time (no less than 3 days/week) will be considered.

Interviews will be held on 9th March.
