Band 6 – Senior  Occupational Therapist (Rotational)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.

The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre has a world-wide reputation for excellence in orthopaedics, rheumatology and rehabilitation.  

Our very popular Orthopaedic Band 6 rotational scheme involves rotations in the following areas: 

1.       Inpatients - Orthopaedics

              Providing Occupational Therapy services to patients across all our inpatient wards. 

·         Enhanced Recovery - rapid assessment, intervention and discharge.

·         Rehabilitation - complex patients such as amputations, bone tumours and major limb reconstruction.

2.       Outreach Service

  • Preoperative Assessment Clinic (based in outpatient department)
  • Home assessments
  • Patient Education Sessions

3.       Rheumatology

·         Outpatients

·         Inpatients

·         Patient Education Sessions

·         Home and work assessments  

4.       Sarcoma Service and Research 

Supporting in-patients both pre and post operatively.  Participation in Research opportunities.

5.       Prosthetics  - Adults and Children’s 

Outpatient Occupational Therapy services to children and adults.  Outreach visits; home, school and work

Continuing professional development opportunities are available to support learning and development. These include an in-service programme, Forum’s, Journal Club and Band 6 Peer Supervision.  There will also be opportunities for participation in research and service developments.

In each area, the post holder will be supported by a Specialist Clinical Supervisor and be part of a friendly and enthusiastic team.
