 Cancer Directorate – Chemotherapy Scheduler – Full Time, 37.5 hours per week  Band 4 (working condensed hours with rotating one day off per week)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Day Treatment Unit in the Cancer and Haematology Centre. Providing a pivotal role in this extremely busy unit you will be responsible for scheduling all patients receiving systemic anti-cancer treatments (chemotherapy).  Working closely with nurses and consultants  you will have a thorough understanding of all processes underpinning the delivery of chemotherapy.  In addition you will be responsible for managing district nurse referrals and be the point of contact with patients in communicating start dates and times of treatment.

The role requires a self-motivated and highly organised individual with excellent interpersonal skills as liaison with medical staff/administrative colleagues and patients is an important element of the post. You will need to be an excellent team player as well as being able to work on your initiative.   Attention to detail and good keyboarding skills are essential and knowledge of databases would be an advantage although full training will be given.
