As a centre of innovation in Ophthalmology, the Oxford Eye Hospital based at the John Radcliffe Hospital is seeking an experienced nurse with knowledge and skills in Ophthalmology.


We are completely devoted the development and education of our staff and have invested  significant time and engery into providing a number of specialist nurse roles. Furthermore we have commenced the delivery of a  Level 7 Post-Graduate Certificate in Advanced Patient Centred Ophthalmology Care in collaboration with,  and validated by, Northampton University. 


The successful applicant must be an  exceptional nurse who has some leadership experience at band 5 or above as well as sound knowledge and skills for the care of patients with eye conditions.  In addition they will be be an outstanding role model delivering a high standard of care whilst supporting more junior staff and contributing to service development.


The Oxford Eye Hospital is a busy outpatient department treating over 106,000 patients a year in the full range of ophthalmology clinics including an emergency department and pre-operative assessment. Our team of made up of 30 members of staff including specialist nurses, nursing assistants, band 4 assistant practitioners, ECLOs  and a department house keeper. You will be supported by the Clinical Unit Manager and be encouraged to continue your professional development as an Ophthalmic Nurse and as a leader.


We have opportunities for full and part-time working.  Our core hours of work are 08:00 to 18:00.
