Band 4 Registered Pharmacy Technician  - Churchill Hospital

We are looking for a full time (37.5 hours per week) Registered Pharmacy Technician, to join our Pharmacy Team on the Churchill site.   This post is ideal for someone looking to move from a community to hospital Pharmacy role, although applications from current 2nd year Pre-registration Pharmacy Technicians would also be considered.  You must have an NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services or equivalent or be in your 2nd year of the course.

Your main role will be in providing a dispensing service alongside some support to the satellite dispensary if required.

Key duties of this role include

  • To participate in providing a full pharmacy service to in-patients & out-patients.
  • Using the Pharmacy computer system to produce dispensing labels
  • Extemporaneous dispensing of non-sterile products.
  • To dispense and keep accurate records of controlled drugs.
  • To dispense and keep accurate records of clinical trials.
  • Assisting in efficient stock control management.

The Churchill main dispensary uses Robotics to support dispensing activities, which assists in us meeting Key Performance Indicators relating to service delivery. The post holder will be trained in the full use of the robotic system.

We are looking for candidates with a positive and responsible attitude to work who can demonstrate good communication skills and work well within a team.   Candidates will also be required to participate in weekend, bank holiday and late duty rotas.
