 Administrator/Receptionist (Band 3)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our Preoperative Assessment Team as an Administrator/Receptionist in a busy outpatient department. This is a key role providing confidential administrative support in a busy reception area.   The post is based at the Churchill Hospital, but the successful applicant is required to provide cross cover at the John Radcliffe site from time to time.

The role will involve greeting patients & visitors, dealing with telephone enquiries, clinic preparation, booking outpatient appointments on EPR, dealing with electronic booking requests, digital transcription, requesting and co-ordinating notes and providing admin support to the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder is required to travel to the John Radcliffe Hospital (via staff transport) to collect notes from the Medical Records Department on a weekly basis and will need to be able to pull a trolley containing notes.

Candidates must be computer literate, enjoy patient contact and possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and ideally have previous office/reception experience.

Knowledge of the Trust's Electronic Patient Record System (EPR) would be advantageous but not essential

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
