Consultant in Neuroradiology (diagnostic)

Applicants are invited to apply for the above post in the Department of Neuroradiology at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Level1, West Wing, John Radcliffe Hospital, Headley Way, Oxford, OX3 9DU.

The department provides tertiary level neuroradiological care to a population of approximately 3 million. The successful candidate will be integral to supporting and together with colleagues developing and expanding the diagnostic neuroradiology service. The imminent replacement of MR and CT scanners will allow further development of high-quality diagnostic imaging, with an emphasis on advanced/functional imaging. Experience of and/or interest in the imaging and diagnosis of epilepsy would be desirable; but other subspecialty interests would be considered and if possible supported.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) is a world-renowned centre of clinical excellence and one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the UK. It became a Foundation Trust on 1 October 2015. We provide hospital and community healthcare to the residents of Oxfordshire and Thames Valley. We are also a specialist regional and super regional centre for a number of services including Neurosciences and Craniofacial. We are also the Major Trauma Centre for the region.

Our collaboration with the University of Oxford underpins the quality of the care that is provided to patients; from the delivery of high-quality research, bringing innovation from the laboratory bench to the bedside, to the delivery of high-quality medical education and training of doctors.

Existing collaborations include the ambitious research programs established through the Oxford Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR); and close collaboration with the research neuroimaging groups including FMRIB.

As an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious colleague you will join a neuroradiology service which consists of 6 diagnostic consultants and four neuro-interventional consultants (All full time; two further interventional posts currently advertised.) This post provides an opportunity to join this.

There are excellent transport links and easy access to the spectacular countryside of Oxfordshire and neighboring counties.

Salary: £77,913 to £105,042 per annum
