Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use Value Based Interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significant difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

We have a total of three posts available: one permanent post and two fixed term posts available to those interested in the governance of clinical research. The fixed term posts are: One 12 month maternity cover; one 22 month fixed term.

Appointments will be at Band 5 or Band 6 dependant on experience as assessed at interview.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust conducts a broad and diverse clinical research portfolio of in excess of 1,800 studies. The main purpose of this post is to provide support to researchers, thereby ensuring the Trust complies with the relevant regulatory frameworks applicable to the conduct of clinical research. Successful applicants will be members of a team which is responsible for evolving processes in response to the changing national research landscape, providing a stimulating and exciting opportunity to embrace change in a creative way.

For successful appointment at band 6 these posts require essential prior knowledge of the research environment, including current national systems and structures for research in the NHS. Sound knowledge of the relevant legislation that applies to clinical research is needed, along with experience of interpreting these in a non-commercial environment. However, for successful applicants with a lower level of research governance knowledge, appointments would be offered at band 5.

   Closing Date: 14th November 2018
