Nursing Associate / Assistant Practitioner (Band 4)

Specialist Surgery Directorate – ENT & Plastic Surgery Outpatients

There is currently an exciting opportunity for an exceptional candidate to join the Specialist Surgery team at the Oxford University Hospitals as a  Band 4 Nursing Associate / Assistant Practitioner.  The department runs Monday – Fridays, 08:00 – 18:00.

The post holder will be working to provide seamless care & support in collaboration with the senior nursing team and alongside registered nursing colleagues. Applicants should be flexible, well organised with a professional friendly manner & have excellent communication skills.  They should be able to use their own judgement to resolve issues, and have a tactful, sensitive approach to dealing with occasionally difficult situations. They should be able to work well under pressure with a flexible approach to work, with a willingness to suggest ideas for improvements.

The post holder will hold evidence of either the Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner qualification (higher apprenticeship and /or a relevant Foundation Degree programme).

We have posts available within ENT & Plastic Surgery Outpatients at the John Radciffe and minor plastics operations (day case) at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, and the posts are full time 37.5 hours per week, although part-time would be considered. .

Candidates will be expected to give a 5-10 minute presentation on “How the role of Nurse Associate/Assistant Practitioner will enhance the service delivery of Specialist Surgery Outpatients”.
