This busy unit is based adjacent to the Operating Theatres and is responsible for the production and supply of sterile equipment to the John Radcliffe Hospital and other customers within the trust, West Wing Theatres and Maternity, and some wards and departments.

This industrious area requires a motivated member of staff to work with specialised equipment and machinery to undertake the variety of tasks including decontaminating, packing, labelling and tracking, and sterilising of surgical equipment.

We are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, including Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year. All applicants applying for this post need to be aware that all staff has to work one of the bank holidays, including Christmas and New Year. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
