Band 4 Assistant Practitioner


Location – Upper Gastrointestinal Ward or Jane Ashley and Colorectal Ward, Churchill Hospital, Oxford


About Us:

Across the two wards we have 40 specialist inpatient beds caring for a diverse range of patients who are undergoing

complex surgeries.


The role:

We are now looking for qualified Assistant Practitioners (AP) to join our friendly and supportive teams.  As an Assistant Practitioner you will work as part of a team, planning, delivering and evaluating healthcare that focuses on the direct care of patients. The role will entail carrying out specific clinical tasks and responsibilities as delegated by a registered Nurse ensuring the highest standard of care is achieved whilst supporting patients, family and carers and the multi-disciplinary team.

The Assistant Practitioner has a required level of knowledge and skill beyond that of the traditional Nursing Assistant role. The Assistant Practitioner will be able to deliver elements of health and social care and undertake clinical skills in domains that have previously been the remit of registered professionals.

About you:

If you are a qualified nurse outside of the UK and don’t currently have NMC Registration or have successfully completed or undertaking a validated programme of academic study such as a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and/or Higher Apprenticeship or hold an equivalent or higher relevant professional qualification we want to hear from you.
