We are looking for a Band 6 Nursing Team Leaders to join the team on the Surgical Emergency Unit, D, E and F Side.

The SEU is a fast paced and dynamic clinical area caring for patients with a wide range of general surgical conditions. The unit has 50 in-patient beds across 3 ward areas on level 6 of the John Radcliffe Hospital and a nurse-led triage area which receives patients referred directly by their GP, the Emergency Department or out-patient clinics. E Side is an 18 bedded male ward.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for general surgical nursing, whilst acting as a role model for junior staff and students on the Unit, supporting the delivery of compassionate excellence. The post holder will be responsible for the training and development needs of a small team of junior staff, with the support of the ward Sister.

Confident leadership and excellent communication skills are essential for this role; the successful post holder will also be required to act as surgical co-ordinator, taking responsibility for the effective movement of patients through the Surgical Emergency Unit and providing clinical guidance.

Internal rotation to nights and weekends is essential to this position.
