Ward Sister/Charge Nurse

We are looking for a dynamic inspiring leader, someone who is enthusiastic, innovative and wants to work in a service that is committed to providing individualised evidenced based care.

The Oxford Colorectal and Jane Ashley Elective Surgical Ward is looking for a new Ward Manager. You will lead and co-ordinate a dedicated team of nursing and support staff to ensure the delivery of a high standard of nursing care to patients who have undergone Colorectal, Breast and Gynae Oncology Surgery.

The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills and must be able to be highly motivated to develop the existing staff whilst maintaining high professional standards, demonstrating a commitment to staff development and patient care.

Through strong leadership, high visibility and accessibility the post holder will enable the ward to deliver excellence in nursing, ensure patient experience is of the highest quality and aim to reduce length of stay. The successful candidate will be required to work in close collaboration with the Matron and Surgical colleagues as well as a large multidisciplinary team to establish and deliver patient specific pathways, adapting innovative models of care and practice.

To be successful, you will need to be a qualified RGN with a valid NMC registration you need demonstrate that you have already worked successfully at senior nursing level and had experience in change management and proven leadership skills.
