We are looking for Band 5 Registered Nurses to join the team in the Surgical Emergency Unit Triage.

Up to £1,000 relocation support offered to eligible candidates.

The Surgical Emergency unit has 50 in-patient beds across 3 ward areas and a nurse-led triage area which receives patients referred directly by their GP, the Emergency Department or other hospitals. Patients present with a wide range of general surgical problems, including upper and lower gastrointestinal, and hepatobiliary conditions.

The successful applicant will work as part of the band 5 triage team, alongside their team leader, medical team and band 7 Surgical Emergency Nurse Practitioners, demonstrating a passion for general surgical nursing. Applicants are required to have had experience in the acute setting within the last 6 months.

As in any emergency setting, the surgical emergency triage is a high turn-over, busy assessment area. Confident, compassionate care delivery and excellent communication skills are essential for this role; the successful post holder will need to be a forward thinking, motivated and a professional nurse who is committed to providing a high standard of holistic care and can demonstrate an ability to work in partnership with patients and their families.

As your career progresses within our unit through completion of the learning opportunities the surgical directorate offers, you may also apply for funding to study relevant courses at Oxford Brookes University.

Internal rotation to nights and weekends is essential to this position.
