The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.

The Trust comprises of four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

Many of our recruitment programmes use values-based interviewing to identify those who have the skills we seek, who share our values and who are able to deliver compassionate excellence from the outset. We know that this makes a significance difference to your job satisfaction and above all the outcomes and experience of our patients and their families.

TRAUMA PHYSIOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT

Trauma Band 6 Physiotherapist
Part time (18.75 hours / week)
SALARY: BAND 6
Fixed term for 1 year with likelihood of being made permanent.

The Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust delivers healthcare services at the four main hospital sites, the JR, the Churchill Hospital, the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and the Horton Hospital. Services are also based in health centres, or adjoined to community hospitals across Oxfordshire. The Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams have merged into an integrated Therapies Service to support the development of a clinically led organisation and to meet the national and local improvement agenda for healthcare services.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the Trauma Therapy Team within the Major Trauma Centre in the John Radcliffe Hospital.

This post will cover the MSK Outpatient Trauma Physiotherapy service, based in the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The Oxford Major Trauma Centre (MTC) is located within the John Radcliffe Hospital. It is the hub for a network of surrounding hospitals designated as Trauma Units, across the Thames Valley Trauma Network and cares for a number of different major trauma patients, both adult and paediatric patients. A 24/7 consultant-led Trauma team at the MTC provide high quality, specialist care for the most severely injured patients across the Network. The delivery of such exceptional care is facilitated by the integration of multiple, specialist teams from the pre-hospital phase through to rehabilitation.

This exciting opportunity is for a motivated, enthusiastic, hard working, and suitable experienced Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Trauma Therapy team. This post offers the opportunity to join an established multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, working to optimise the recovery and outcomes of patients following trauma.

The successful candidate should have experience of MSK trauma / orthopaedics in a clinical setting. They must have excellent time management skills, be flexible, be a strong team player, and also able to work autonomously. In return they will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of trauma patients within a supportive team and develop specialist trauma therapy skills.

The therapy service is committed to developing a quality service in this ever-changing environment. We offer regular supervision, in-service training and actively promote the personal development of all our team. We fully support CPD and provide regular supervision, IST and appraisals.
