Full-time Workshop Technician (Band 4), Oxfordshire Wheelchair Maintenance Service


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a workshop techniciant to join our established Maintenance Service Team which is part of the Oxfordshire Wheelchair Service (OWS) multi-disciplinary team.  (OWS) provides wheelchair and mobility equipment to the population of Oxfordshire, including wheelchairs, pressure distributing cushions, specialist buggies, special seating and in-house custom made seating. 


The post is based at the Oxfordshire Wheelchair Maintenance Service in Cowley, which is part of the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.   The Maintenance Service is responsible for delivering, collecting, repairing and refurbishing equipment and the workshop technicians concentrate particularly on refurbishing equipment to a very high standard for re-issue and handing over equipment or carrying out repairs for patients who drop in to the service.


The successful applicant will be adaptable and flexible with good organisational skills and the ability to work in a busy environment  with frequent interrruptions.  They will be experienced in the use of hand tools and have an aptitude for repairing and assembling equipment.  Part of the role is providing cover for mobile technicisans when required so applicants must have a  current driving licence.
