As a regional trauma centre the OUH Operating theatres offer a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and as a base for medical education, training and research, is a dynamic centre on which to build upon clinical experience.

 

We are recruiting for Operating Department Orderlies for the John Radcliffe Theatre Department. If you are motivated and have some experience of working with people in a busy environment, then we are looking for you. This job involves assisting the team of registered practitioners in the care of patients which involves working both inside and outside of the operating theatre. The role involves working as part of a team, transfer of patients, assisting in the setting up of theatres, cleaning the environment in line with hospital policy and stocking up. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a safe, clean and welcoming environment for the patients.

 

Successful candidates will be supported in practice by theatre staff, to ensure the smooth running of the area. We will provide a comprehensive induction programme to support your development which includes an in house perioperative course and competencies.  An ability to work flexibly in a challenging environment is required.

 

If you are successful in obtaining a position with us as a Operating Department Orderly, you will be required to take part in shift work to provide 24 hour cover which includes weekends, bank holidays and nights.
