Community Team Leader for the Vale – Wantage Midwifery Led Unit and surrounding community areas – Band 7

 

 

An exciting opportunity have arisen within the maternity service at Oxford University Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust for an exceptional, committed and motivated midwife for the Community Team Leaders post for the Community Vale. The individuals will work closely with the Senior Midwifery Manager and Consultant Midwife for community services to ensure excellent women centred care.   One of the key focuses of this role will be work with us to meet the recommendations of Better Births (2016)

 

The individual must have a strong commitment to midwifery practice, safety and have excellent organisational and leadership skills.   The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership ensuring the team philosophy which promotes and reflects optimal standards of care for pregnant women and their families.

 

The team leader will provide managerial leadership for the Freestanding Midwifery Led Unit based at Wantage Hospital and community services.   The community vale team provide care and support to approximately 1250 women and their families around the Abingdon, Wantage and Farringdon areas.   The team provide a comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postpartum services to women and their families in the locality. The teams support and provide care in the Freestanding Midwifery Led Unit at Wantage Hospital.
